Default In case I had to go to LaGuardia

from my apt in Riverdale...

I'm no stranger to public transit or the city. But I have never taken public transit to LaGuardia(tho i have taken the M60 to the 1 home and it worked rather well tho crowded on the M60)

What would you say is better, to take the #1 train to 116th and B'way and catch the M60 bus to the airport

OR

take the 1 train to Times Square to the N to Astoria Blvd and catch the M 60 to the airport

OR

take the 9 bus from B'way and Lakeview Place to Fordham Plaza and catching a Metro North to 125th and Park and catch the M60 to the airport?does anyone know how i can get a simple schedule of when a train comes into Fordham(the MN schedule is confusing, just looking for a simple chronological account of when a train comes in)

or even perhaps the 9 bus to the 4 train to 125th and lex to the M60

I'm throwing out these possibilities cause I know them all but have not actually travelled on them all

I would be leaving very early in the AM, looking for the route that minimizes discomfort and aggravation as i am a nervous type

thanks in advance--rlrl

I'd say that if the main goal is to minimize discomfort and aggravation, the #1-to N-to M60 or the #1-to M60 directly are the options to consider. It's usually best to hold down the number of transfers to a minimum. Especially very early in the AM, when the bus frequency isn't going to be very good.

Default thanks for the info

price on the Fordham to 125th looks rather steep tho

if i took the 4 to 125th and lex would the chance of the M60 being stuffed be greater than if i got on the M 60 at 116th and B'way (terminal stop)?

not if you are leaving really early in the morning. The trip on the M60 across Manhattan on 125th St. is tortuous. If you can catch it at Lex, you're saving yourself a lot of aggravation.

It will have some people who got on in Morningside Heights also catching early flights, but I wouldn't want to get on way back at the origin just to get a seat and take a chance of traffic on 125th delaying your arrival.

It zips along reasonably well after Lex- 3rd, maybe 2nd, Triborough, then a few stops aside the Grand Central access road until LGA.
