Could anyone recommend a good general practitioner in the area?

Also: can anyone tell me anything about throggs neck bungalow rentals--saw an ad in the local paper and was intrigued. Anyone done this or know the deal?

Many thanks, friends and neighbors...

You can DM me if you prefer, esp re: question number 1

I've been bouncing around between Doctors lately so I can't reccomend anyone in particular. If you want top of the line of course I'd guess they'd be in Riverdale because thats where all the money is.

What about the rentals in Throggs Neck? There are private beach communities in Throggs Neck along the coast. The houses cost more than your average house in that area since they have beach access. There is also at least one boat/yatch club out there. I'm pretty sure there are a couple, but I only know of one off hand. Its a very nice area down there by the waterfront. It has a similar vibe to city island in that you don't feel like you're in the Bronx.

The main problem with Throggs Neck n my view is that many parts were built kind of like the suburbs so you need your car to get around because there often aren't local neighborhood stores. There is that main drag on East Tremont, but many houses can be a good distance away from those shops. Otherwise Throggs Neck is a really nice area to live.

Many thanks, Mead! I just saw a teeny ad in the local paper and was intrigued. I thought maybe I could rent for a month from some place just for a little getaway. Of course, since I don't drive this might present some issues but I do know how to call for a cab!

If you or anyone else can tell me any more, I'd appreciate it verily.

Unfortunately I haven't found a doctor yet that I'm happy with. We were going to a place affiliated with Montifiore, across from it, but the waits were so long. Doctors were good though. Also, that's pretty far for you. Good luck.

I've been satisfied with my family practice (an Oxford participant), Riverdale Family Practice on 3125 Tibbett Avenue just north of W 231 street. They cured my illness quickly and competently when I was hospitalized for 5 days 2 years ago and they have always had a nice bedside manner. Waits can be long, however

Oh yeah...anyone use a dentist under oxford (I have oxford medicaire). I'm paying a fortune right now for my fancy upper east side dentist, but he's worth it, so I'm afraid to try anyone else (the one time I did was a disaster).
