There isn't really a community per se like in Queens and Brooklyn but there are a lot of Jamaicans and West Indians in general spread out throughout Harlem. I know for sure for instance there are quite a few in the Hamilton Heights area.
Actually, Jamaica, Queens has a nice mix of Carribean folk, though I wouldn't call it a Jamaican neighborhood.
Crown Heights has a high mix of basically every Carribean island, not just Jamaica and Trinidad.
jamaica queens is a very diverse area period , many of the buildings and houses by Jamaica ave are run by Hispanics and Guyanese Indians. when you go down to liberty or take Jamaica ave to the 190,s then you will see the diverse Caribbean community.
as for crown heights no it is not a exclusively Jamaican/trini area but it is very diverse with all the islands with just a Trinidadian majority.
Haitians are the second largest group after Jamaicans in Brooklyn btw.
the jamaican community in brownsville is very different from the Jamaican community in southeast queens lol.
well my Jamaican friend always claims Jamaicans on east 98 in b ville love using guns on the streets. while the Jamaicans who live in more upper class areas are decent folks.
How is the Jamaican community in brownsville different from the community in Queens? The Jamaican people are the same in either.

are you joking???? jamaicans in south east queens are middle/upper class with families making nice annual incomes a year. Brownsville on the other hand is a very poor area and a lot of the west indians in the area are not living the best of life some even taking part in the drug trade and criminal activity in the area and a lot of them are poor. Thats the difference between the Jamaicans in Brownsville and the Jamaicans in south east queens lol.
that's like saying overall African Americans in Camden new jersey are the exact same like the African Americans living in cascade heights , atlanta

Yeah wateva. One can live in upperclass areas have great income and STILL be class less and ignorant. Just like you can live in poverty stricken areas with very little to no income and be a decent respectable individual.

Well, I am a Jamaican and I live in Canarsie in Brooklyn. Canarsie have a heavy yardie population. So, if you are really interested in meeting Jamaicans then that is a good spot since nuff dance and boat rides gwan in the surrounding areas, including East flatbbush, flatbush, crown heights etc. You are completely embedded with west Indians right here and frankly no shooting no gwan in a my area. It pretty serene. Hope this is helpful.
Anyone knew of the Jamican fruit store which was a front for high grade marijuana in the back thru a scecret door? It was like a scene from the movies, and was located on 124th and Madison back in 1997. It was great till the cops busted it.
Dumb question. Where are youn from? There are Jamaicans all throughout ny! I'm sure you will find plenty in harlem.
