Puerto Ricans dont get much recgonition and contribution creation of hip hop though. Its mostly a Jamaican Cool Herc and other African American Pioneers.
Im originally from bronx river, where Afrika Bambaataa is from and the true birthplace of hip hop. Other places trying to claim hip hop is laughable. Afrika bambaataa was a much bigger influence to hip hop than kool herc. He was the one that brought the culture together unifying graffiti, breakdance, fashion etc under the banner of hip hop.
