We have Lion King tix, courtesy of Grandma, for Sunday night. It's part of the Kids' Night on Broadway program. Kids will be in costume, of course, since it's Halloween. Any experience with midtown on Halloween? Any special stuff going on? Recommendations on where to eat, relatively cheaply, for an early dinner? It's been almost two decades since I lived in the city, and I don't have a clue what to do with kids there!!

Thanks so much for those links - wow, we get really cheap parking because of this event. I never would've known if you hadn't linked to it -- I owe ya big-time!!
There's a list of restaurants with kids-eat-free deals -- would you recommend any of them? (Ellen Stardust Diner isn't on the list):
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
Connolly's Pub and Restaurant
Glass House Tavern
Hurley’s Saloon
Matt’s Grill
Planet Hollywood
Playwright Celtic Pub
Playwright Tavern
St. Andrews
Tony’s DiNapoli Restaurant
Trattoria Trecolori
On second thought, my kids are 5 & 9 and have no clue what a Planet Hollywood is; maybe I should just stick with that, since I know they'll be awestruck by all the faux movie crap?

Thanks again!
I don't know, have never been to any of them! My daughter was a young teen when I took her and her friends to Ellen's--they thought all the singing was great, but maybe your kids would like Planet Hollywood better at their age.
It's just when I saw your thread I remembered the Madame Tussaud's thing and vaguely remembered something about the Kids on Broadway. Glad I could at least point you in a direction. Have fun!!!!
The Intrepid Air & Space Museum has Halloween events for kids Oct. 30-31 and has a 50% discount on admission for whoever comes in costume Oct. 31st:
