It really makes no sense to hop on a 2 train from 241st or on a pelham bay station 6 train and take it to the city during work in downtown manhattan a long trip and back. Could be worse duing the twlight hours of the morning heading back to the outskirts of the Bronx by train which is the worse. One of the best things about the lower South Bronx is its close proximity to Manhattan your in and out.

I totally get what you're saying but most of the activities that I do or in Manhattan nowadays. Sometimes if I'm REALLY beat from partying I'll take a cab back home. Like I'll go a little past the south Bronx, get off and take a cab. If I had a car, things would be much easier but I don't right now so yeah. I would hang out in Westchester but its simply just not the place I hang out at most times.

The one on 148 and Willis is the one that has great mondongo and nice hot morcilla. Does anyone know where I can get cuajos in the Bronx? The stuff is great but hard to find.

The area used to be highly distressed and dysfunctional lots of "undesirable elements". But its improving. The last thing on my mind is food when Im in South Bronx. But is nice to hear that so many of you seem too enjoy "ethnical food and dishes".

ethnical is not a word..it is simply ethnic. The shopping district is improved..and continues to improve..albeit at a snails pace..of course.

Something I've noticed in that area is the large police prescence and arrest or search of the "corner" people. What are these people getting arrested for? It doesn't seem to be drug related but I could be wrong.
