Little happens on the 9/11 anniversary. Next year might be a little different because of how far along construction has finally progressed and because it's the tenth anniversary, but I think there's nothing more than a small memorial service usually. The site doesn't look like much, either, just a construction pit with a new building rising out of it. I wouldn't bother visiting as a tourist.
They don't follow a correct route map , like other companies like Greyhound and Truckers. They had several bridge accidents this year , the worst was upstate. There drivers also act like they own the road swerving and other things. Its not the buses themselves its the drivers , Amtrak regional can be as low as 49$ and takes 40-70mins less then the bus and comes with every the bus haves and then some. Like the cafe , wifi , larger bathrooms that actually flush.
We'll have to agree to disagree. I found two MegaBus incidents but many more for Greyhound.
$49 for one way? That's kind of expensive. I paid $36 round trip. I actually showed my boss the site when she was planning on taking the bus and she thanked me for showing to her so she didn't throw her money away on the train.
I was always under the impression that Greyhound buses where sketchy.
If you are talking about trains, how about the Acela Express?
I would avoid ground zero. I don't understand why tourists want to visit the site where people have died. I don't like tourists visiting the site, it cheapens the site and turns it into a tourist attraction like Madame Tussuad.
They were touched by the tragedy, I guess. It's does not seem to be merely entertainment for them. People leave behind very emotional written messages at the Tribute Center, and meeting people who lost family members, survived, or participated in the rescue/recovery means something to them.
We got emails today asking whichever volunteers were available to please come in, because the walking tours were filling up fast with people stuck in the city because of the snow.
I could do without all the vendors on the street hawking photos of the day to make money.

The train is faster.....and more relaxing then a bus......it may be more expensive but its way better. Food on board , toilets that flush , curtains to block out the sun.
