So I just spent the past 5 days on my second visit ever to NYC with my momz and older brother, and just as expected, I fell right back in love with it. I didn't mind the muggy heat this past week as my mind was fixated on the surroundings and formulating the most sensible routes around the city while sightseeing and derping around. Tried some cannolis for the very first time, and became really attracted to the West Village and SoHo area. It reminded me so much of the cool, hip communities we have down here in San Diego, but on a much larger scale. I felt like I found my niche.
I'm naturally an aggressive walker with a fast stride, probably because I'm an impatient person who wants getting things done fast. I kept up with the crowds and absolutely loved the convenience of the public transportation you guys have! Everything at home is so spread out, so a car is a necessity. I've read of people saying that the folks on the subways are shady (and made sure I was cautious considering I am a young 20-something female), but I haven't had any bad experiences just simply keeping to myself.
Anyway, I'm back home now - straight chillin' in my bedroom at home nestled in suburban SoCal. It's good to be home n' all, but my heart is in New York City. I'm convinced that's where I belong, and I'm making a personal pact to make it out in your neck of the woods when I finish up college (and hopefully land a solid job). Try and deter me all you want, but I love it there and can see myself really enjoying myself since I've grown quite tired of the familiarity around me after living in San Diego my whole life.
Thanks for reading. Peace out. [/done]
I'll trade with you in a heart beat. Enjoy that weather because it sucks here. Winter and hot/humid summers get old very very quick. LOL. I want to move to poway or carlsbad so bad. You live there. I'll give you my crummy beat down old studio apt in the bronx for your socal suburbs.
