I think in the heavy tourist areas like Time Square, it would feel like a post-apocalyptic movie. Everywhere else? No difference.

Were you here for the taxi strike? Bizarrely empty streets. Kinda cool, but also creepy.

Me too. But I think I'm starting to see the other side of the coin. (pun intended) Meaning it's not purely their fault. Put the blame on the landlords who, because of the guarantor factor, prefer the kewl kids over regular renters. For most people, in nearly every context, a money-back guarantee is way more attractive than a risk. And who could've foreseen the slippery slope of campusy transformations where there' a bar every 330 feet?
