Hi, parents pls advise: need to renew my daughter's pass , (expired nov.2009,she is 6 now), was issued in NYC.(we are abroad now will be able to travel only mid December ) How to make an appointment ? And if I need renewed passport less then in 3 days what has to be done ? What do I have to bring (doc-s) with us? Any info will be helpful
Yes, it will cost more, but it beats standing on line for hours. If you need it done quickly, they're the best option. All of the required documentation is on their Web site.
Renewing in person at a office as busy as New York is really, really difficult. You have to call to get an appointment. The demand is so huge that it can be very difficult to get through, and you can only make a reservation exactly 7 days in advance. It's a real pain in the neck.
Personally, I think it's worth it to pay the $50 and have someone who knows what they're doing navigate the process.
I see this thread's from Nov 2010 but here's what you can call to get official answers
