Honestly Bullprick, if you had the Union take a firm stance denouncing such o/t abuses, you would not have the backlash you see today, and Unions would be in a better position to keep themselves away from the budget ax and vitriol.
Its not a great article Branson. Once again try getting facts and not editorials. Pensions have there own funds that are run by the state. So yes you can say tax payer funded.. But the funds have not needed actual tax payer contributions. They are fully funded in our state. They perform in the market. The VSF ($12,000) is showing an excess for 2011. Its all a scam. Please show facts. Not opinions from the Citizens Budget commission.

My union does not even come close to guys getting those amounts. We also are not recipients of the 3/4 disability pension as frequently. That is because lives are not at risk if we cant physically throw the garbage in the truck as fast if we are hurt. So things have to be looked at differently for each agency and job title. Most guys I know are in poor physical health and the abuse on there body has taken its toll. They dont last very long or are in constant pain after retirement.
I mean... C'mon! Read something first, then comment. It's obvious when people mix up the order!
Or right wing think tanks like the empire state commission. Didnt our illustrious Deputy Mayor for Operations Stephen Goldsmith belong to 1 of these. His ideas worked real well this last storm didnt they? lol
There is talk about privatizing sanitation...have you heard this Bullprick?
Sounds good they can bid on neighborhoods and contracts much like they outsource road construction and repair also repairing or building new facilities. Hows that workin out? Most private companies are unionized also.
These private companies may be unionized, but the tax payers would not be footing the bill (salaries/pensions/benefits etc), maintaining trucks, etc...so who cares. They would simply take bids and then write one check..the end. But why do you think it would never happen?
