The weather is forcing us to stay indoors with our 4 year old, and we are looking for an indoor place where she can run around and see some other kids. BJ's and the Mall just ain't it.
Any ideas appreciated. We could travel to brooklyn or LI, but not too far.
Sorry to interfered in your conversation, but I am interested this message. Tell me, how in New York solved the problem of shortage of playgrounds? Would Can Municipality of City help with this problem? Or only your personal initiative? Thanks.
For free fun there are plenty of McDonalds and Burger Kings with indoor play places. If you go to their websites you can locate resturaunts near by and it also tells you the amenities at each location. The queens hall of science in flushing is free on fridays 2-5pm and the Museum of the moving image is also free then as well. Indoor pools are also free for kids but require a $70 per year membership for adults. The best is flushing meadows/corona park, but there are other good facilities as well. Check out NYC Dept. of Parks website. On Thusdays they have open play for $14 at Kids In Shape in Howard Beach, Queens. It's worth the money beacause the kids have a blast and they tire out from all the activities. There is also Caraselos resturaunt in Howard Beach where you can eat affordably and they have an awsome little aracade. Great family resturaunt geared toward kids. There is a funzone on Metropolitan Ave. near Rego Park thats pretty affordable. If your in South Queens and have transportation I recomend trying long island. The Chuckecheeses' aren't as overcrowded and they tend to have better indoor play areas then the city. Rooseveltfield Mall in Mineola has a Dave and busters and the mall is perfectly kid friendly with a carolsel. Broadway Mall in Hicksville is the only mall I know of in NY with an indoor playground. It is geared toward younger children, but my oldest is 8 yrs old and he still gets a kick out of it. The Ikea at the mall also has an indoor play area for kids where you can drop them off and go shop. Good Luck. Hope this helps
