Throgs Neck, Pelham Gardens, Co-op City, Woodlawn, Riverdale, City Island and Country Club in the Bronx. Maybe others; I don't know the Bronx so well.

*Brooklyn Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Park Slope, Gowanus, Red Hook (but avoid the area near the projects), Windsor Terrace, Greenwood Heights, Sunset Park, Kensington, Parkville, Ditmas Park, Prospect Park South, Midwood, Boro Park, Bay Ridge, Fort Hamilton, Marine Park, Dyker Heights, Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach, Sheepshead Bay, Gerritsen Beach, Manhattan Beach, Brighton Beach (and, actually, probably avoid Coney Island, narrowly defined, although it would go in this list on my original qualification). Also, Flatbush, but avoid East Flatbush (the dividing line is Flatbush Ave); Flatbush overlaps with Ditmas Park and Prospect Park South.
I know Brooklyn well but I never heard of Parkville. Where is that nabe?

Be wary of Williamsburg, because sometimes a place marketed as "East Williamsburg" is not in Williamsburg at all but in Bushwick, which is not safe.

Parts of Prospect Heights and Clinton Hill that border Bed-Stuy might be a bit less safe, I'm not quite sure.

I always wondered if Parkville & Kensington are considered the same neighborhood.

in my opinion parkville is not really a neighborhood. kensington i don't even really like to consider a neighborhood either. I know people will disagree with me on that one. In reality I would say parkville and kensington are just parts of Boro Park and the only reason they have different names is because Boro Park has the stigma associated with it of being over-run with hasidic jews. they added those "neighborhoods" in so non-jews would be interested in living there.
