DW and I will be visiting our non-hip relations in S williamsburg this weekend, and will probably want to take a shabbos stroll on saturday afternoon. DW wants to walk across the Williamsburg bridge. I am guessing we may have time to stroll about Manhattan a bit before turning back, but am concerned cause the area we will be in will be the LES, and I dont really know the area well - last visited many years ago.

Any suggested walks - we love all the usual fascinating city things, from history to architecture to art - but we want it to be safe, and DW will be more comfortable if its easier to perceive the safety (I mean if someplace actually has a low crime rate but LOOKS too rundown, dangerous, whatever, we might want to avoid it)
