Taking the ferry from NJ to NYC Pier 11/Wall St area
Hi
Does anyone know the most affordable way to get to a ferry from Bergen County area (near Oradell/River Edge area) and take the ferry to Pier 11/Wall St?
From what I see it's $200/mth just to take the train to Hoboken and then another $220 /mth to take the ferry at the hoboken terminal to pier 11. that's way too much...and i can't find a bus that goes from my area directly to hoboken. and the ferry from Edgewater only goes to midtown.
any ideas??
thank you!!!

Why don't you take the New Jersey Transit bus to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, and from there the subway downtown?
I used to live in Fairview, and I recall a Oradel bus.

Or take the train to Hoboken and PATH to the World Trade Center. It's cheaper than the ferry at $52 for a 40-trip.
I used to take the ferry in in the morning and PATH home at night, just to keep the cost down but still enjoy the ferry ride (definitely the number 1 way to commute!)

thanks! the bus to port authority is 45 min. (or more) in the morning. the subway (1 or R) to where i need to go is another 25-30 min. that's a looong commute
the ferry from hoboken terminal is only 20 min ..maybe less from what i see. that's why i was trying to figure out a way to take the ferry.
I have no prob with taking the PATH but World Trade Center is too far of a walk to my destination (which is near Pier 11)

there are unfortunately not really any other options. my husband does a similar commute & it is horrible. he does it from lyndhurst station which is even closer than oradell & it still takes him over an hour door-to-door because of waiting time.
