Queens boring? Not if you are a foodie. There are great Chinese, Indian, Korean and South American restaurants to check out. Also, great markets to buy food in if you want to try to do some ethnic cooking on your own. Queens is not as exciting as Manhattan, to be sure, but you will get a lot more bang for your buck housing wise in Queens.
Also, may I warn you. July is not the best time to be in New York. It's hot and muggy. But the fall and spring are delightful.
Just remember, Queens is suburban boring with few areas to go, like a bowling alley and to a movie.
Just STOP your ignorant nonsense about NYC and especially Queens. If you hate NYC so much, why are you hanging around the NYC forums? This is the kind of behavior I will never understand.

Henna, is Queens the most happening spot around? Is New York like Hawaii with lots of tanned blonde women? I'm just being honest that New York is a rat race with lousy weather, dirty, crowded and overpriced real estates. The place is overrated and boring! I've been there many times and don't wish to return. You're wrong that I hate New York. I'd rather be in Hawaii, LA, San Diego and Las Vegas.
