There are reportedly hundreds of homeless people living under or near the subways in NYC. Why are there so many open, empty areas underground? Are these areas just necessary to support/maintain the subways?
Are there people living underground in places that are not associated with the subway or other trains?
There was a book called Mole People by Jennifer Toth (early 90s), which I'm reading now. Some people claimed the book was inaccurate.
I read that book awhile back. Interesting read, although I did also hear that she invented a lot of the details in there.
There is a great documentary called "Dark Days" (2000) which profiles a community living underground beneath the trains. Extra bonus- soundtrack by DJ Shadow.
They don't need to go thru all that. They can just move to Queens or Brooklyn and live openly among the other immigrants and Transplants.
Oh right, because a terrorist could never be a "native" born in NY. That would be against the rules of what constitutes an immigrant, transplant, native or terrorist on this board.
