Default Which places in New York City have monthly 1 bedroom rents at $ 650 and less or $900 and less?

Hey. I have lived in New York City most of my life. I am technically living in both NYC and Seattle right now. I am going to live in Seattle for another year or year and a half. Then I plan to move back to New York City.

Preferably, I would like to live in Manhattan(of course that is wishful thinking at that price range but I want to find out if it is still possible), Brooklyn, Queens, or Staten Island in that order.

I really want to avoid having to live anywhere in the Bronx again at all costs.
I lived in the Bronx for most of my life and just really dislike about 95% of the Bronx and feel like I lived in that borough for way too long. From age 14-18 I went to high school in Manhattan and hung out in Manhattan and Brooklyn most of the time then because I just don't like being in the Bronx.

I am now age 19. I am starting community college soon(in Seattle) and then plan to transfer to a 4 year+college(In New York).

I found a great 1 bedroom apartment in a nice area of Seattle for $650 a month so I wonder if I could find an apartment that nice in New York for that price range.

If you like being around dominicans try washington heights or inwood, some parts feel just like the bronx. How about buswick in bk, reminds me alot like mott haven. Maybe bville or eny has rents similar to your rental budget however these areas are more dangerous then the south bronx. Try living with a transplant in gentrified neighborhoods and pay half of a 2000 dollar rent with a roomate.

You are young so I will be nice with you. The money you are talking about will get you a ROOM darling. If you want more you had better up the ante. If you are cool with living in the ghetto and can prove your salary is 40x the monthly rent then you can live by hoodrats. That's straight up fact and truth. If you want much more than that you are looking at a 2 hour commute into Manhattan. Suck it up, buttercup!

Why does it sound like you are condescending me?

Wow, I can have a great 1 bedroom apartment with a balcony/terrace for $650 in Seattle in a nice and safe neighborhood but that barely gets me anything in NYC? That sucks. And Seattle has a lower poverty rate than New York City too.

There must be decent areas of New York where I can get a pretty good 1 bedroom for $900 or less or $650 or less per month!?

Is it possible that you could find a college in New York that has student housing?

You can get a large studio apt. for approx. $900 in a good neighborhood in Queens, but not a one bedroom.

Yes, that's exactly right. And the reason for that is because you are in Seattle and not New York.
