I am sure it will be...BUT human error, bad communication and corruption always comes into play. We are not God and that is why I never say never.

No one expected them to hijack planes and fly them into the buildings either....but it happened!

I know NYC is a greedy place that wants to capitalize on every inch of Manhattan real estate they can but there are some things that are better left alone.
Every time somebody speaks or acts in fear like this, the terrorists get to score a small victory. Every time you make a decision to NOT take a plane, visit a building, or work or live in a certain location, you've scored one for them.

I'm sure their goal is not to 'blow stuff up', but to keep us from living our lives, to manipulate, and to play little power games with Americans and others in Western democracies. They don't even have to DO ANYTHING, they just have to threaten, or just hint that something might go down, and overnight, people all over this country are taking off their shoes, surrendering their hand lotion, getting zapped with xrays, and buying ridiculous amounts of duct tape and bottled water.

I work in one of the most high-profile buildings in Midtown, and I am not scared. Nobody who works in that building is "greedy", my colleagues and I work for 'you', if you get my meaning. I am proud to work there.

To all of you who experienced the horror and pain of that day and the aftermath, I honor you.

To all of our Muslim brethren, I say A'salaam aleichem, peace be with you.

Peace be with all of us, and please God, Allah, Yhwh, let us all live free from fear.

I disagree, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion!

Well, not exactly...two of my coworkers always said that the next time they would come back with planes and ram them into the building. Both got out and lived to say "I told you so." I thought it would be a truck bomb driven into the base. ("How d'ya think they'll try to get us next time?" was an occasional conversation topic at the WTC.)

They didn't quite envision the hijacking of commercial jets, though. We foolishly thought that airline security was better than it apparently was, I guess. One said a small plane loaded with explosives, and the other said a cargo plane, like a FedEx plane, because the security for the cargo planes was less than for commercial at the time.

The truth of the matter is, terrorism in New York City hasn't been eliminated as a threat just because bin Laden got caught and killed. But maybe this will serve as a warning to some of the others--we got him, and we can get you, too.

As to the World Trade Center, the short memories people display always amuses me. When those towers originally went up, they were heavily criticized for A) not fitting in with the city skyline, and B) being just plain ugly. Now, of course, everyone is supposed to get all nostalgic for them--a club of which I don't happen to be a member. I have no objection to a new tower, although if one is going to be built, I'd like to think it might actually be full of tenants, as opposed to a basically useless showpiece.

There's no "if". Two are currently under construction, one already past 60 stories high. And tenants already for both (though not full).

But, you're a New Yorker, so you already knew that...

Kudos to President Bush for not joining Obama at Ground Zero...Why is he coming now? I don't get it?
And I srongly feel that they SHOULD not have built more towers here. WHY? it comes down to money
of course, it's too important a piece of prime realty in N.Y. to let it go undeveloped..shame, I could never work in one of those buildings..should have made just a park out of it maybe with an ampitheather for special concerts......
