Wow, NYC being a liberal city has nothing to do with how dirty it is, especially since free market conservatives have been running it since '94. OKC more than likely has a higher crime rate and I'm sure has its share of illegals. Tampa and Jacksonville down in Florida are extremely suburban and conservative but have had some of the highest crime rates in the country, way higher than NYC's or San Fran for that matter. Miami in the 80's was a Republican stronghold, it had illegals which the Republicans encouraged (wet-foot, dry-foot policy) and murder was rampant. And no, not all suburbs are a great place to raise kids.
Guiliani and Bloomberg are not conservative, in fact, Bloomberg is not even a Republican anymore. The NY City Council has has a Democrat majority for decades, and all boroughs, with the exception of Staten Island, has had Democrat Borough Presidents non-stop for decades.
Also Staten Island is the best looking, safest, and cleanest borough by far. Compare that to the most liberal borough, The Bronx.
NYC is not crime-ridden. It is very,very safe. I find it amusing that you are comparing OKC to NYC. OKC is the most boring "city" iin the country, unless your idea of fun is going to the local chain restaurant on a Friday night. Not to mention the general redneck attitude of the place.
There are plenty of things to do in OKC, especially these days.

I have toured NYC on google maps and seen pics of the city. Everywhere I look the city seems dirty and run down, the subways look the worst. I am pretty sure NYC being an illegal alien sanctuary city has something to do with it, but good grief. I jump over the big pond to London, which is around the same size as NYC, and I tour that city. By contrast, London is a beautiful city, with lovely architecture and clean streets all over. London also has a lot buildings that are much much older than buildings in NYC, and the buildings in London still look great vs. NYC.
Nothing to do with illegals at all. Nyc has always had rough looking parts. There are a lot of clean streets too though not everything looks dirty.

Parts where rich white liberals live are very clean. And Staten Island is basically suburbia, why would you want to go there at all?
