Hello Rosedale 419,
I have searched the web for CK. ,when she lived in Rosedale to no avail. One site about Rosedale was by Wikipedia with the most notable celebrities from Rosedale, there was fifteen and C.K. Was one of them , but 6 out of 15 have no mention of living in Rosedale , only living in Brooklyn or Queens.
I lived in Rosedale from 1954 to 1983 and she was one I couldn't give you info on. A lot of the earlier people I could. Sorry I couldn't help.

Here's a funny note. I lived across the street from the elementary school. And I don't remember the number?
Is the school there? What about the Hand Ball courts?

Default Pizza King

Hey Rosdale Fans.
I noticed many of you remember the Pizza King. My Grandfather Rudy Elliot (aka Rudy Felix) and his brother Murray Elliot opened it in 1938 and sold it in the 70's. Rudy went by his professional boxing name Rudy Felix. Here is a link to a movie of the Pizza King from right after WWII and many of the pictures that hung in the entrance way. Hope this brings back some happy memories!

Default Pizza King

I loved the pictures from the Pizza King. I don't remember the pizza king looking like that though. I remember it in the late 60's and 70's. Do you have any more pictures of the area? Rosedale must have been the sticks when it opened

Default Pizza King

That was the original building from 1940's. It changed a great deal over the years as the they expanded. Rosedale really was a a small town then. If I find more pictures I will post them.

I remember going to the Pizza King with my family in the late 50's early 60's during the summer to eat pizza , then go further down the road toward Springfield Gardens about 3/4 of a mile past the Pizza King ,to go to the carnival that was about adjacent to BROOKVILLE Park and had a great time for a few bucks considering I was in a family of eight. Oh! The good old days !!!!

So were most of the two family houses that dominate Southeast Queens built in the 60s and 70s? What did the neighborhoods look like before that?
