Forget Pizza
OK the pizza debate will rage on without a clear winner. But can we at least all aggree that the best sandwiches, in particular hero sandwiches, would come from Roman Carousel. Why do I think there might be some who disagree ?

It's ERNIE'S Roman Carousel. Get it right I'm still waiting for someone to tell me the name of the German deli next to Marty's Butcher Shop. They could put together a sandwich.

It was Hinze's I think. The children ran it until about 6 years ago. The last time I saw it it was a Vietnamese market.

Just to give people a heads up, the below linked site will be disappearing soon. Has some interesting photos and other tidbits of Rosedale.

Hi TEX HLDM
Enjoyed reading about your detour through Rosedale.
I just found this website, and have read tbnhrouh the first 6 pages of postings so far. Sorta surprised that there have been no references to any of the Rosedale Roundups we had, starting in 1988. They were awesome. To see people who were friends from 50 years ago, some of whom "hadn't changed" (actually, there were some recognizable features, but imagination filled in the gaps.) Anyway, I'm delighted to read that people have loved Rosedale through all its changes, and still do. I was among the early fortunate ones. JoeV

Does anybody know if there is still an empty lot in back of 226 street and 145 avenue. As kids we used to play manhunt and all kind of things in them weeds.
