The issue was not whether developers are in it to do anything for the neighborhood or the residents...we all know the primary motivation why they are in business, which is the same reason why we all go to work, and why people do most things....money. Developers are no more different, evil, or should be held to a higher standard than either you or I. We all gotta eat.
I do not tell people to pay sticker for anything...nor do I tell them to pay what anyone tells them to. When did I ever say this? What I did say is that houses are being sold for these prices...maybe these are the negotiated prices..we do not know...we can only speculate whether people are negotiating or not. The point is, however, these are the prices being paid. You always have the option of not buying here, or anywhere...there is certianly nobody forcing anyone to buy. However, should you choose to buy, these are the prevailing market conditions, which may go lower, higher, or stay the same as today.

Now, I wonder what the final offering prices were for the people who bought those condos.

It is public information..and anyone wishing to know what they ultimately sold for can check via a variety of sources, local realtors, property shark, or the city website.

well the 90's and 100's have no projects. the closest 1's are hammels on b 86 st. you probably were accosted by some stupid high schoolers cause beach channel hs is on b 100 st. b 67 and beach channel drive is the hood.....there's only 1 family houses over there but a lot of gang members hang out around there, and b 67 is really not far rockaway, but arverne. sorry you had a bad experience tho, it can be intimidating at times.

Well this country was born on feasting...and thrives on feasting..so why should developers be any different? Don't blame developers for participating in the game and making money.

guywithacause, this is the point im trying to make.
u say "oh dont blame the developers they're just trying to make a buck" and then in the next breath you're like "well its worth something to people who may want to live there for whatever reason...."
you're all over the place like a drunk driver....slow down and hand over the keys before somebody gets killed!

lol...thanks for the mortgage amounts....I know that the prices started at $375,000 so those mortgages could be for any of the units....just depends how much people put down....but yes they are selling.
As for me all over the place like a drunk driver...that made me laugh. But those 2 comments are not mutually exclusive..i.e. the developers can be swooping in and making money...and those that are CHOOSING to buy are doing it for whatever reason...so I have yet to see the harm? Yes it sets a higher price for homes in the community..but that is life...it applies to all commodities..should we stop driving to keep gas prices low? Stop using electricity because rates are too high? So why should we stop buying homes because prices are going up as well?
