Heading up from Miami on Friday... We are ex New Yorkers (75th Riverside) - bringing the kids up for their first taste of NYC... Friday-tuesday

Should I expect crowds - or are u guys all heading out of town...

The city is fairly empty that weekend. The only place you will see a crowd is on the 4th if you try to get near the east river for the fireworks.

The fireworks are on the west side this year. the city is pretty empty compare to usual. Lots of people go to the beach, other cities, hamptons, etc.

its tame kinda nice to have the big city for yourself. Mostly tourists.

Yes, it's tame here that weekend. Should be ideal as long as the weather isn't crappy and hot. Getting here might be another story though.

My bad. The fireworks are back on the west side. New Jersey's gain, Brooklyn & Queen's loss.

I just moved here (Park Slope... lots of thanks to this forum!) and my parents are coming to visit this weekend... Where is the best place to see fireworks monday? also anything going on daytime worth checking out?!
