I never hear of people saying they are going to the beach and then say the one in howard beach is there a actual beach there were you can hang ten?

I could of sworn that there is a small beach located in Charles Park in Old Howard. I think only the locals know about it and go there though.

A century ago before it all got filled in. Driving East from Knapp St you can remnants of beach until at least Fountain Ave and whatever little is left at Charles Memorial Park.

The south coast of Howard Beach does front on Jamaica Bay--but if you have images of Brighton Beach or Rockaway Beach in mind...you're about to be disappointed.

There is a small beach, down along the 'A' tracks...at least there used to be. I went there in the 70s to collect hermit crabs, etc. Not the kind of place where you'd swim.
