Default from jfk to astoria ny

I need to get to the frank sinatra school of arts 35-12 53th avenue in astoria ny from JFK. Can anyone tell me exactly how I would do this by subway and how long it will take? After that I need to leave astoria and go to midtown manhattan. Is this possible by subway?

Are you sure about that address? According to Google maps, that address is in Elmhurst, not Astoria:

35-12 53rd avenue, ny - Google Maps

It's 35th avenue, not 53rd. So it is in Astoria.

Anyway, it looks like you want to get on the Airtran from JFK to either Sutphin Blvd or Jamaica Center. From there I think you want the E train to Jackson Hts. Roosevelt. At that station you get on a different train for a few stops, but I will defer to someone who knows that part of town better to get to the HS which is at 35th ave and 35th street.

From the HS to midtown, there are several trains to midtown. Which one is best depends on where in midtown you need to go.

Here's a link to the subway map for your reference.

IntendedThis is another troll.

Don't you all get it. The questions are so stupidly obvious. Intended for the likes of speedo to trip all over himself. An exercise for the amusement of the OP.

It simply isn't in anyway efficient to use the subway for such a trip. Give or take $5, for $20 you can get to the school by taxi in 30 minutes or less.

I believe the E goes to Steinway Street.

Either the R at Steinway, or the N at 35th Avenue, either will take you to midtown in 15-20 minutes

Take the Airtrain from JFK Airport to Jamaica LIRR Station which is also the Sutphin Blvd Subway Stop. From there take the E train to the Court Square/23rd Street Station. From there it is a 10 min. walk to the Frank Sinatra School of Arts.
Afterward you can go back to the Court Sq/23rd St. Station and take the E train to Midtown Manhattan.

Taxi from JFK to Astoria for $20? I don't think so... probably more like $70 - $80 or more.

Then why do you give directions as well?

$20 is about right. JFK to Manhattan is only $45.

Well then I was ripped off when I paid about $50 from JFK to the Bay Pkwy exit off the Belt Pkwy in Brooklyn. Picked up the cab at the cab stand outside the terminal at JFK and the cabbie gave me a rate sheet/receipt that made everything look legit.

Where did I go wrong?
