I think Manhattan is a little hotter. More heavy electricity infrastructure like subways, office towers, and more concrete per square inch which acts like a radiator all night long.

(I think I'll be turning off the A/C sometime in September.)

The humidity is stifling and the entire city becomes a sauna.

Hundred degree dry heat is a cakewalk compared to 90 degree heat with high humidity

The summers suck ass in NYC. I remember I would literally pack all of my makeup in a thermal bag and would do my makeup at work a half hour before starting. Otherwise I'd just be a hot mess. I always wore light fabrics on the subway, usually sundresses or linen shorts because I'd sweat through just about anything else. And I'd carry a liter of water in my backpack. I couldn't stand being on those platforms. It was awful. Considering how much a 30 day pass is now they'd ought to do more to combat the heat problem down there.

Sheesh, with all those buildings stacked on top of each other, how can you not feel it?! Those with claustrophobia proceed Manhattan in the summertime with caution.
