Because you're asking such a silly question like "why is this website even allowed to post this???" and the answer should be pretty obvious.
Now if you think Youtube or whoever should police themselves and take down stuff like that as a matter of company policy, then that's perfectly fine. However in your post you seem to be in favor of some regulatory body demanding it, which isn't okay.
And it doesn't just occur in the projects. Others wearing fashionable clothes, and living in nicer areas end up doing the same thing. Now they can record on their HD cellphones, upload them to Youtube from their latest Sony Vaio laptops, and tweet their brawls to their homies with their iPhones. This is all due to poverty, right?
Klato the reality is the thug culture is not highly admired, it is something that people must adapt at various levels in order to survive...there's a big difference. There are very few dummies who admire the thug culture, the vast majority however are stuck living around it and don't want anything to do with it.
But you are right, the hip hop icons do not want to live in the hood again..for all they talk about the hood, they never step foot in it again once they make their money. Funny ay? If all these people from the hood came back and invested 20% of their multimillions into building affordable homes, helping people take care of their communities, and providing resources for education, the 'hood would be a very different place.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, more ghetto nonsense!
If everyone that made a dollar turned into Jesus Christ, the world w/b a better place and we could all sing kumbya!
You do realize the same song has been sung for the last 60 years plus to absolutely ZERO effect. Think maybe its time to change the record?
Got some money? Want to make change? Give it to Jeffrey Canada, THAT will make a difference.
jcoltrane it seems as if all your posts are laced with anger for some reason... you need to take a relaxant or something... we're just discussing a topic that I thought needed addressing... To the intelligent people who didn't watch the video, it was taken from youtube and posted on worldstarhiphop as 90% of the videos that are posted on worldstarhiphop come from.
@ jcoltrane nobody is disagreeing with you about your points, the only thing I have an issue with is why do sites like worldstarhiphop which are created to discuss topics on black culture, focus so much on violence and gang life... What kind of message are you sending these kids where you make it so simple for them to watch gang violence or aggressive behavior and promote it as entertainment for black folk... that whole concept to me is idiotic and is blatantly racist to black people in general... It's basically saying that the only thing that generates buzz are stories like these because that is how we are and that is how we'll stay...
Finally, youtube doesn't only ban videos for copyright infringement... please people do some research before making statements that don't hold any weight... Youtube bans videos for copyright infringement, pornography, and removes your videos as well as your name if you have multiple infractions... This among other things, I haven't read the full guidelines. My point is, if youtube decides to ban videos like the ones just mentioned, they should do the same for videos like this which promote a lifestyle of gangbanging and lack of compassion for the people affected by it.
The only ones promoting this lifestyle are the people themselves. Even the gangsta lifestyle created by the media is vanilla compared to what is going on in the streets. Sites like Youtube and LikeLeak did not exist years ago but these kind of aggressive behaviors existed back then. It is those sites that are throwing a light into the problem. Let it be known to others the reality of things instead of trying to hide them.
Doesn't really look like its stopping them... From what I see these videos have been popping up more than ever now so how is this actually helping to stop the problem?
Or the videos could be used as evidence to prosecute and or defend people in instances where there are various accounts of what happened. So there's that...
The vids are only showing what is going on, to think its just been recently around that people act or fight like this is ridiculous. Been going on for ever, its just now that you see it conveniently from a screen instead of accidentally in person.
