No organization has caused more destruction through religious motives than the Catholic Church either. Crusades, Inquisition, witch burning, dark ages, etc.
The RCC has done a lot of good over the years, but try not to ignore the fact that it has used its power for very evil things over its history.

And I'm not an atheist incase you want to call my point atheist drivel too.

Actually I am a Catholic. Nowhere in my post did I say anything that contradicts your assessment of the church's role in civilization.I agree with it.Nor did I ever claim that anything more than a small percentage of priests engage in pedophilia.I simply said "It's just too bad that some of them engage in pedophilia." I was only molested by one priest in a big inner city parish that had a rectory full of priests so I know it is definitely a small percentage of them.

I think you have misconstrued my embracing of the church's gay heritage because of your own disdain for that heritage.
