My vote would be Per Se. Don't bother with River Cafe - it was extremely disappointing.

No I would not choose it. I was merely suggesting something completely different to the OP.

Believe me Hunts Point Ave. is an experience. And it would most likely be memorable.

There is also a blue hill in Greenwich village... Though from an elegance standpoint a notch below daniel, per se, le Bernadin, etc.

Some really good suggestions so far.

I recommend Eleven Madison Park.

No matter how much money I have, I can NEVER abandon BBQs. Strictly because of the sticky wings and the texas size Blue Hawaiian.

It depends on the type of cuisine you're looking for. I would recommend Angelo & Maxie's, Bubby's, and Gotham just based on what I like. Haven't heard of Daniel, so I can't give an opinion on that.

I have been to Daniel on a first date and it was an experience I will never forget. While the food was wonderful, I complete utterly prefer Eleven Madison Park (that was my third date with the same person). I truly enjoyed my meal there and wish I had taken my husband to Eleven when we had returned to NYC.

I highly recommend Eleven Madison over Daniel.
