Do you believe everything you read? Who knows what the full story is.
Sensationalist crap for the consumption of nit-wits.
Besides what's new? OMG, a racist teacher, nothing new about that.

Everything written?

There are only allegations. No corroboration. No comment from the teacher.

You do not know all the facts, nor reality surrounding the allegations. So why would you believe what is written?

I hope you are aware that the purpose of the media is to SELL ads and commercials. The greater the hype and sensational the story the more they sell. The motivation and tendency is to 'report' for hype and sensationalism.

Truth, fact, and integrity are very often obfuscated by the need to sell hype and sensationalism.

For example, the Murdoch/Sun scandal, as well as the alleged sexual assault by the French IMF guy upon the maid. He was figuratively lynched by the media and thru the media by the public as well.

Yet, as it turns out, there is some doubt to the allegations, and the media, as well as everyone else, has done a 360 on the issue.

Those examples alone, show that what is written is not Gospel and the integrity of the media is suspect at the least.

one s/n believe what is written and reported, but rather be suspect. Specifically, that which leans toward the sensational and sells a lot of papers and gets a big tv audience.

Who knows what's true, and what's not, what's exaggerated and/or what is withheld.

Moreover, stop paying attention to such sensationlist crap, and perhaps there will be more true 'news', and more depth to what is reported. As long as crap like this

Don't Believe the Hype!

This does not seem to be made up for sensationalism's sake. I read the Daily News story and the teacher's background, which says

"...He has also written frequently for the white supremacist publication American Renaissance with which he is still "intimately involved," the non-profit Southern Poverty Law Center says..."

The SPLC is highly respected for fighting racism, anti-Semitism and the like. Its no fly-by-night organization. And as for the AR, you can go online for yourself and see how hateful it is.

Then there is his tenure on a local school board in Queens

"Borzellieri, who unsuccessfully ran for state Assembly in 1994 and City Council in 1997, previously made headlines as a school board member in District 24 in Queens, where he lives.
During his board tenure, from 1993 to 2002, he tried to:

Ban literature he labeled "anti-American" from school libraries. His targets included books on different races and culture, and a biography of King.
Remove an openly gay teacher and gay-rights activist from the classroom at Public School 199 in Sunnyside, and ban school employees from making any references to homosexuality.
Introduce a resolution calling for students to be taught that U.S. culture is superior.

Borzellieri's views rankled teachers at St. Barnabas School in Woodlawn, Bronx, where he taught English from 2006 to 2009."

Finally no, its NOT new that there is racist teacher. There have been in the past and will be again. What's newsworthy and shocking is that the priest here sees nothing wrong with the guy leading a school full of balck and Latino children. I don't know who's sicker and more screwed up. The teacher or the priest.

PS if you "do a 360" it only means you are exactly where you started. I hope you meant 180?
