Where to go out in Astoria
Can someone give me the name of a good bar or two where my and my roommates (who have just moved to Astoria) can go out. We're all 21/22, looking for a place to have drinks, and meet people our own age.
Any tips/help appreciated.

The Beer Garden is a landmark in Astoria and NYC - 24th Ave and 29th Street.

Yeah, that's a really cool spot, but it's raining pretty hard tonight. Any all weather places? But yeah, that's exactly the sorta place we like.

Ever heard of a place called, Manhattan!?
Transplants kill me. Move to the greatest city in the world, and they want to hang out in Astoria. Talk about un-sophisticated.
If I moved here from Nowhere, USA, Manhattan w/b my only destination.
Anyway, try here, I guarantee you'll be right at home:
Sweet Afton
Enjoy!

That's the style now. Move somewhere so that you can drink outside, meet people in the process, and stumble home after it all. In all honesty, if I was a transplant I guess I would do the same thing to meet new people. But since I'm from here, I can just go get something from the liquor store and call my boys to come over to my place. Everybody walks to a different beat of the drum.

Seriously? Not sure if this was sarcasm or not.
Newsflash not everything happens in Manhattan and why go there when you can find places in your area?
In all honestly I actually like/prefer the people who move here and want to learn about/explore places OTHER than in Manhattan.

Yeah Sweet Afton is a good spot too. Good macaroni and cheese in addition to alcohol of course.
Astoria is a good place to hang out if you're young and on a budget. Best to spend your money here and do all the free stuff in the city rather than drop $15 for a beer in the meat packing district pretending it's good value like the rest of the d-bags.
