I'm new to the city and love all the unique events and activities that it has to offer. However, it's been really frustrating for me because I always hear about some cool event after it has happened. Does anyone have suggestions for a good consolidated event listing, either for south manhattan, all of manhattan, or all of NYC? I've found a few listings online but most of them are either specialized (ie art galleries or athletic events only) or they don't include very much stuff. I know there must be a website with what I'm looking for - can someone point me in the right direction?
What are your favorite "specialty" event listings pages? For instance, I just discovered that the New York Academy of Sciences keeps its own events listing - Events at the New York Academy of Sciences. Probably not interesting to 90% of you guys, but I'm a science guy and I'll love this list.
