Sounds about right. I made it about halfway over the GWB before turning around. The height was bugging me a little too.

While I was up there I did the Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg, and Queensborough and which ever one connects Long Island City to Greenpoint.

The Brooklyn Bridge is cool but I like the Williamsburg and Manhattan with the train running on them.

Default GW is the best

All six major Manhattan bridges + Pulaski. The GW and Williamsburg are my favorite. GW is a hidden gem (as far as walking across of course, obviously it's the most used for cars) as it is really pretty up there.
