If you need to get around anywhere, Bloomberg wants you to keep your car inside and use cabs. He's given them permission to be on the streets and charge you by zone.

A few years ago because of a heavy rain storm, the entire transit system got wiped out for pretty much a whole day and it was much less rain. How quickly people forget this. It was a disaster. People were stuck at stations or scrambling trying to get to and from work.

I hate Bloombucks, but he handled the situation correctly. BTW closing the transit system is really the gov's call, although I'm sure Bloomie was given a big say in the decision. MTA is under state command not city.

the media has short term memory loss, like Katrina, Ike, Rita, Charley, ect. Christmas Nor'easter was worse for the Northeast.
