Came across their website, Nofeerentalbyowner.com and I notice their postings in a variety of areas in the boroughs. But i noticed too their fee to access the landlord contacts. So I want to know has anyone attempted to rent through them and what happened? or are you currently living somewhere that was found through their services?
i would not trust them. most of these websites are scams. they show you some apts they claim are avail you join and SURPRISE>>>>>>>>>>>> woah woah woah................. they are alllllllllllllll gone. but they have your money
common sesne here too. it says no fee but they are charging a fee go figure
"No fee" means "no broker fee" which in NYC is usually thousands of dollars (I believe it's 12% of a year's rent). The access fee charged by "No fee" rental sites can be anywhere from a nominal fee of $30 for a bare bones site (when I first moved to NYC in 2000, I used a site like this to get my first apartment--I figured if it was a scam, how bad can $30 be?) to $250 for more elaborate sites.
To the OP--Do your research, there are plenty of reputable no fee sites out there. The fact that they charge you doesn't mean it's a scam at all. No fee sites help NYers get around the crushing hold real estate brokers have on the market. Anything that undermines their virtual monopoly is a good thing.
I'd say there are 10 agents posting as owner and under the "no fee" category to 1 real "no fee" listing on craigslist (from my experience in the last month). Maybe it's different in Manhattan, but in Brooklyn all I do is flag 'em and flag 'em and flag 'em. They're even creepy, crawling their way through Trulia.....
That's a great deal services provides by such organizations but after some month ago they given trouble his customer and asking for more money which is much more with agree deal, What we will do after this plz suggest .....!
