Today's NY Times says that homeless people have been flocking to the Occupy sites, drawn by the free food and shelter.

That's wonderful news!

The protesters will thebylearn first-hand about the lives of the lumpen proletariat, thereby raising their revolutionary consciousness. And on toward the future they will march, to establish the socialist international.

LOL!! Bet they didn't see that coming --- homeless people and let's not forget about the peeps getting released from Rikers Island and have nowhere to go. The jail officials are telling them to go to Zucotti Park! LOL!! (according to the news, anyway)

Only in Washington.

Here's yet another example for people who naively think this hasn't made a difference, or is pointless: Peter Dreier: Occupy Wall Street: Changing the Topic

They are protesting that the super-rich have taken over the government and the economy and are using their power to get even richer. They are protesting that we no longer live in a democracy.
Normally those would be tolerable but this time those in control have made a complete and utter fu$%ing mess of the whole thing and have destroyed the livelihoods of many U.S. citizens while amassing immense wealth to a smaller and smaller group.
They bought and wrecked the United States like it was some company to be pillaged of assets.

The 99% majority on the wrong end of this economic stick want the power BACK and they are saying so loudly in many cities across the country.

It would be well for those in power to take notice.

That is the POINT of the demonstration...a warning shot across the bow, if you will.
