We can try, over and over again, to get it right and start cooperating. There is a possibility for success in this and if we fail, ultimately, to change our lower natures, we will just end up in mutual destruction.

We have only to gain by trying to exercise our higher impulses.

Gotta love:

How DARE they cost Wall Street people their jobs.

How DARE they talk of violence.

How DARE they not demonstrate in Washington

How DARE they own I-Pads

How DARE they frighten the tourists away

How DARE they be mostly white

How DARE they include the homeless

How DARE they not work

How DARE they be fed decent food

How DARE they be students not attending class

How DARE they call for bank boycotts

How DARE they go home and take showers

How DARE they be anti-war

How DARE they make the police work overtime

How DARE they call for large taxes on the mega- rich.

And then to top it all off, many complain THEY DO NOTHING. After escoriating OWS for all the awful things they DO, the DO NOTHING complaint is indeed the silliest.

This is the largest continuous demonstration in the United States since those against the Vietnam War. Whether you love it or hate it it is IMPORTANT and getting worldwide notice. All movements start off small but some can bring down governments, some can get Czars shot, kings beheaded, slaves freed, dictators disembowelled, and Constitutions rewritten.

It is the most significant grass roots action in 40 years.

The corporate media decided first to ignore the movement (hypocritcally after having gone into thunderous ravings about the right-wing well-orchestrated, corporate sponsored, teeny tea party movement.)
They were forced to turn 180 degrees after having been called out on their corporate toadying and made to look like craven fools...and little by little OCCUPY was recognized.

But now OCCUPY is a household word and it is not going away, it is going worldwide, and the genie will not be put back in the bottle.

And some end like Tienanmen Square or the Bonus March.

How dare they cost ANYONE their jobs. How dare they damage anyone's business, in particular small businesses when allegedly one of their objectives is fighting on behalf of the working class.

How dare anyone find either of those actions defensible.

Not really, it was a pretty ****ty job market when I graduated in 1990 also. This is nothing new.

Not according to the business owner. He has had to lay off a big part of his staff
and is concerned about having to shut down all together because of lost business. He is certainly not the only manager/owner talking about lost business because of OWS and the barricades.

Those laid-off employees? They're collateral damage on the road toward a socialist utopia, like the millions who died in the 1930s in the Soviet Union or the other millions who died in the 1950s-60s in China.

Long live the Communist International!

Where is the source for this alleged business owner who is "forced" to lay off people?

Has anyone on this board actually been to OWS lately? There is NO WAY the people in Zuccoti park cause anything else than tourists flocking to the area to gaze at the "weirdos".

And Urban, your post should be deleted as pure bull****. No one wants socialism. All OWS asks for is BALANCE and a few jobs. Sorry if you find that offensive, I and 67% of Americans find it pretty reasonable.

Yes, I agree that my comments should be removed, in the same way that civil rights hero John Lewis was removed from the picnic site.
