My sister and I did the reverse. We had a house in Texas that we had inherited and tried to rent it out from NY. We had 2 different property managers, and both were terrible. We paid the 1st for repairs that we found out later were never done. After that, we insisted on coordinating all the work ourselves, but the 2nd property manager wasn't happy about this. (I'm sure this is how they really make their money.) Unfortunately, our house was very old and needed a lot of work and it was very hard to deal with from so far away. Maybe if your property is in better shape, this wouldn't be such an issue. I personally wouldn't do it again unless we had a family member or good friend in the area who could keep an eye on the property and handle all maintenance issues. Good luck!
