how bad is essex street between liberty ave and glenmore ave in the east new york part of brooklyn? This is close to the sheppard avenue train station on the a/c lines
It's still East NY where you really do have to take a little more precaution anywhere you go in that part of town but it's not the worst part... You're talking about close to Atlantic ave right?
not quite atlantic.. but close to it. the train station runs on pitkit ave and sheppard ave. the block is essex street... its in between glenmore and liberty and i think the next ave up from liberty is atlantic
yea i kno where thats at... I used to live on Pitkin between Jerome and Warwick before I finally moved outta there... Like i said, to move I definitely wouldn't recommend it but if it's to visit family or to walk around, there are worse parts of East NY... Mother Gaston for example
here's both corners liberty and glenmore to give you a sense of the area... very run-down area, but not as dangerous as other parts... like i said before there are avenues and streets where you'll see shady characters posted on the corners at all times of day but this particular area is a little more quiet... personally, I feel safer in areas where I see more people rather than an area like this... At least you know there's people walking around and cops all around in high traffic areas even if alot of crime happens around there... generally with a location like this, police presense isn't as strong and the chances of being a victim of a random attack are higher than if you were in a more busy location...
oh ok thanks..... I see what you mean... it appears to be safer, but its more deserted so it can be dangerous.....
