Hi Liz,

I'm a few blocks North of you and I have a friend in your block (225 E. 85th) and there seems to be nothing on my streets. But then as a non-driver now, perhaps I'm not looking hard enough. Maybe WITH a car, one's radar gets better.

Yep, cars have soared in price since the dollar was turned to Charmin in this era of cooked books' "non-inflation"...a fantasy invented by the Treasury Department.

Just wondering what you ended up doing. I will be living in city and driving to pearl river for work. What do you suggest?

Well, that was a long time ago, so as you can imagine, my life is 180% (yes I know that is a mixed metaphor, done so on purpose lol) different.

I applied, but didn't get the job. I ended up taking my severance package and switching industries altogether. I moved out of Manhattan the next year, back to the Bronx for about 2.5 years, and have been in Astoria since 2016. Love it here but now planning a move to Jackson Heights, East Elmhurst sometime this year.

So in your situation, I would say it depends on where in the city you'll be living to recommend a route. Traffic has gotten a million times worse than it was in 2012. I don't want to be anywhere near a car commute these days, nevermind one that goes over a major bridge.
