NYC / Gangs birthday month October -something to look deep inside!! (New York: high crime, neighborhoods)

I dont have to much time in NYC, only 5 years around. but I had to know a little bit as well.since I heard about the ( subway slasher ) . The only thing that Came through my mind was October, one of the gangs in NYC birthday. I know that this month is about that. schools are target to this acts, when kids, and girls goes for fights and cuts. It's really something to look and concern about it, what are the plans of Major this year for that,? As of last years several people was stabb, cut in the face and killed by this celebration of (BLOODS) and other gangs . What Can we do to avoid any incident .??

You must be talking about Halloween hotblue. The only thing you can do is remain vigilant and stay out of high crime neighborhoods. However the gang initiation days are usually urban myths.
