I would go for neither. Maybe you should try to find a 2 bedroom apt. Try Astoria or Washington Heights (west of Broadway). Since you have a 3 year old baby, it would make sense to go for a 2 bedroom so you and wifey can have your privacy.

Good point. Forgot to factor in that OP had a baby.

It's better to go for a 2 bedroom so the baby can have his/her own room and you can knock boots without traumatizing the baby. Or else you're going to have to move from the 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom when the baby matures and you want to knock boots but don't want to disturb the baby.

Also, you might be able to lock down a good rent for a 2 bedroom now.
