UES for safety but biking works (Central Park.)

If Daddy is IMMENSELY rich, Fifth Avenue on the Park.

I like living in Chelsea. Currently, the nicer parts are along 7th and 8th avenues below 23rd street. However, that is changing quite rapidly.

The areas north of 23rd and West of 8th are changing so much so fast its mind boggling to me. The High Line has attracted a lot of developers and luxury high rises are being built all over. Hudson yards (not technically part of Chelsea) will complete the transformation.

I'll be walking in northwest Chelsea and suddenly see a fancy lounge in between an auto collision shop and a junkyard. Bizarre. lol

West Chelsea (right off of the West Side Highway and the High Line) is my favorite part of Chelsea. I'd definitely take it over the Upper East Side.

I love the upscale-warehouse developments and avant garde buildings going up as well as the relative quietness.

It's just fine. The majority of the population in Chelsea is straight actually and there are plenty of straight bars. A rainbow flag in a store window doesn't mean that store won't sell to straight people you know--it just means it's friendly to gay people as well. lol
