i turned 21 and i finally want to get my license! i have my learners permit but in order to start getting some women already and getting some booty, i really want to get my license so my uncle can finally start letting me drive his car around. the only problem is, i really don't know where the heck to start. how do i even apply for my license? do i have to take a road test? where can i take a road test and how long does it take to get my license? i am in queens.
it seems so difficult to get my license here as compared to florida.....ugh! nyc is a pain in the ass with these things!
If you have a license in Florida, you can switch it out for a NYS license. If you only have a NYS Lerners Permit, there is a process you have to go through to get the license. Check out the NYS DMV website and that will give you all the info you need.

My daughter had a NYS license for 10 years. She moved to Florida for 4 months, and when she moved back to NY, they didn't want to take her Florida license without taking the tests all over again.
Fortunately, Florida did not confiscate her old NY license (expired by then) and she went back to the DMV with her old, expired NY license, and just applied for a new one. No questions asked.
It seems that not all states will reciprocate licenses. Florida will take NY, but it seems NY won't take Florida ones.

NY will take FL. My parents just change theirs back a few years ago from FL to NY again. They just filled out the form, went to the DMV, it was done. However their FL licenses were not expired.

One always need to do the eye test (reading the chart at the DMV or getting tested by an optometrist) when changing licenses from a different state in NY.

Wasn't there a change recently to renewing your license in NYS where your ocular abilities are self-reported? You would think that if that applies to renewing an expired license, it would also apply to switching in your out-of-state license...
Schedule a Road Test and if you pass you should get it in the mail in 2 weeks.
