Arriving Penn Station 554am tomorrow on LIRR. Need to catch 0700 AA flight from EWR. Taxi is probably the best bet. How long do you all think a cab from Penn to EWR on a Sunday morning would take???????

EWR is Newark right?
If so, how else can you get there besides taking a taxi?
Mass transit at that hour towards Jersey would be off peak--in which case forget it.
Good luck.

I'm wondering, how LONG is the taxi ride from Penn to Newark airport on a Sunday morning with no traffic????

Yeah...I see that now.
Sorry.
No traffic...Sunday AM...ASSUMING there are no street fairs closing down streets forcing the cab to take side streets--you should 100% be okay.
With no traffic that's a 30 min. ride. Tops.
Prob. more like 20 min.

You can take a train to Newark Penn Station and then take a taxi to your terminal. A taxi from Newark Penn station should be around 16.00.

New Jersey Transit

Depart : NEW YORK PENN STATION at 6:13 AM
Board : Train 7817 toward TRENTON TRANSIT CENTER
Arrive : NEWARK PENN STATION at 6:33 AM
FareRegular = Total$5.00

Is your flight at 7 am???

Your schedule is cutting it way too close if you ask me.

Count on your 5:54 arrival train being being 5 or 10 mins late and leaving another 10 or more minutes to get upstairs AND INTO A TAXI THAT WILL TAKE YOU has you leaving Penn Station and on the way @6:15 or 6:20 in my book.A 25 min taxi ride( provided there are no problems on route) will get you to Newark Airport at 6:40 or 6:45 ! Then it will likely take you another 10 mins(or more) to get through security and to your gate where you will arrive 5 (or less) minutes before the scheduled departure of your flight! Even if everything goes perfectly smoothly and all of this works, will they even let you on the plane then ?

Yes,you have to take a taxi from Penn Station to Newark but I would also take an earlier train and get to Penn Station at 5:00 or 5:30 at the latest!

Good luck ! I would never be able to cut things this close. There is literally not a minute to spare. If one thing goes wrong you are screwed.

I agree with bluedog. If your flight is at 7 am you're plan is too tight since boarding will begin at 6:30 to 6:45 am. I would try to be at NY Penn Station around 5;15 to 5;30am. This will allow you to take a train to Newark Penn Station and then a taxi to your terminal.

I would still take the taxi unless there is a train connection that gets him to Newark Penn station by 6:00 am at the latest. There aren't likely to be too many trains at that hour on a Sunday.
