Hey, come on! Staten Island is useful! In the 60s and 70s, my mother and her co-workers would cross the bridge from New Jersey because the drinking age was 18 in Staten Island, and not 21, like it was in their state.

Because it's not "as cool" as the other boroughs. I like Staten Island, very quiet, suburban, safe for the most part, and the quality of life overall is the best in the city. It's the only borough I wouldn't mind raising a family in.

Archie Bunker took one look at Staten island and decided it was too redneck...so he moved to Queens.

(I think Staten Island should join Bayonne and become a small state..."you get in but you cannot get out.")
