I would have to say john jay or lewis morris as the greatest new yorkers, I cant forget jane jacobs. The worse, probably jp morgan or al sharpton along with robert moses.
Is Farrakhan also a native? Then there's Charlie Rangel...
Bill O'Reilly for worst, though there are probably some terrible serial murderers who actually deserve this more.
There's far worse than O'Reilly, come on. He's a freaking talking head, pick someone who's really done some serious wrong in their life. With all the corrupt ****heads, criminals and crime bosses out there you pick O'Reilly?

Agree, if we want to nominate the most annoying people from NYC, then
you can put people like O'Reilly and Donald Trump on the list. But these
people are pretty much irrelevant when you compare them to the other
historical New Yorkers that impacted the City of New York for good or
bad.
--Boss Tweed. Gave local politics a bad name it still hasn't totally shaken.
--Robert Moses. Screwed up NYC a lot more than he helped thanks to a love of cars and hate of mass transit.
--Mayor Rudy. I absolutely hated that jerk who spent all his time in office either demonizing black people or boasting about just being there on 9/11. Far as I can see, he did little more on that day than have a pulse. No surprise that when the rest of the US got a close look at him during his presidential run they all said "No thanks." And he deserves little credit for lowering the crime rate. He was just lucky enough to be mayor while the crack epidemic was waning and economy revving up. But he spun that luck into his own "expertise." Don't get me started on Rudy.
Among the many best are
--Jane Jacobs, who knew what cities should be and told everybody
--Felix Rohatyn, the financier who orchestrated the bailout that saved NYC in the '70s.
--Othmar Ammann, who designed the Verrazano Narrows, the George Washington, the Triborough bridges, and a bunch of others. Totally brilliant man. (And yeah he did it for Robert Moses' Triborough Bridge Authority. But even a stopped clock is right twice a day.)
--Fiorello Laguardia kept NYC together in the Depression (Do people know that he was a Republican?)
In terms of corruption, Boss Tweed was particularly bad...
