The problem is the extremes: so hot in the summer, so cold in the winter. On the other hand, it toughens you up.
I haven't stayed in San Fransisco for the whole year, but the two summers I was there, it was heavenly. NYC can't hold a candle to it.
I gave NYC a B.

I always say NYC is the perfect city except for two things--January and February. BRUTAL. Other than that (and the extended early spring--good Lord, the spring chill lasts FOREVER here! I cannot believe I can't break out the shorts until JUNE!), the weather is fine. B+

I actually think February and March are the worst months.....everything else I can deal with. If you really want to experience cold, try living next to the water like me. I got used to it.

I'd give a B-. Compared to other NE cities our weather is pretty good but the best seasons (fall and spring) feel short now because of climate change. Summer in NYC is miserable. Winter is relatively mild for the most part. Fall and Spring are awesome but how many true fall and spring days do we get these days? Not too many...
