I'd be careful about the painting part. You don't want to end up with a crappy paint job. But then again, you get what you pay for.

Exactly  , that's why I wouldn't have someone hanging out in front of HD paint for me. I've had 3 rooms painted by a skilled painter. He charged us around $1000 but I tell you, he was flawless and not a drop of paint anywhere.

There are plenty of hardworking, unemployed, down to earth, laborious young people ready to exert as much energy as possible for capital.

Me too.
I would never hire off the street.
I painted my place completely ONCE. It really was a labor of Hercules but the results were A-1. What I lacked in skill I made up for in CARE.
I have ONE recommendation. Buy the very best paint you can becasue if good paint allows you to skip just ONE repainting you are WAY ahead of the game.
